We’re excited to launch our new illustrated comic, designed to make antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and genomic science more accessible across disciplines.
We first introduced the comic at the TARGetAMR Conference 2026 two weeks ago, where delegates were able to explore it in person. Following its positive reception, we’ve now made it available online so it can be accessed, adapted, and reused more widely by researchers, educators, and practitioners.
We developed the comic as an entry point to genomic literacy. Rather than targeting a single audience, it has been designed to support transdisciplinary engagement – offering a shared, accessible starting point for people working across fields such as health economics, geography, clinical practice, and microbiology. By using visual storytelling, we aim to make complex concepts easier to understand and to help bridge disciplinary boundaries.
Through this resource, we want to support collaboration and knowledge exchange across the AMR research community. We hope the comic will spark new conversations and enable colleagues from different backgrounds to connect with genomic approaches and consider their relevance within their own work.
Now available as a digital resource, the comic is intended as a community asset. It can be used in teaching, presentations, workshops, and public engagement activities, supporting both academic and non-academic audiences.
To maximise its reach and impact, we’ve shared the comic under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. This means it can be freely shared, adapted, and reused, including incorporating individual panels into publications and other outputs, provided appropriate credit is given.
By making the comic openly available, we hope to encourage creative reuse and broaden engagement with AMR and genomics beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries.
You can now view and download the comic on our website.
