The TARGetAMR Community has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 1,000 members worldwide.
This achievement highlights the continued growth of the network and its increasing impact across the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) landscape. Importantly, it also reflects a shared commitment to advancing interdisciplinary collaboration to address one of the most pressing global health challenges: antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Since its launch just 18 months ago, TARGetAMR has quickly established itself as a leading AMR research network. Today, it brings together researchers, clinicians, industry partners, policymakers and early career researchers from across both the UK and internationally. As a result, the network creates opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and sectors. In turn, these connections support knowledge exchange, encourage innovation, and strengthen partnerships, ultimately accelerating progress in tackling antimicrobial resistance.
Advancing Collaboration to Tackle AMR
Significantly, reaching 1000 members in a relatively short period reflects both the urgency of the AMR challenge and the value of coordinated, cross-sector collaboration. By connecting expertise across academia, healthcare, and industry, the TARGetAMR Community is helping to advance research and translate scientific discoveries into practical solutions that benefit patients and improve public health outcomes.
The network’s growth has been supported by a wide-ranging programme of activity, including workshops, networking events, training opportunities and funding initiatives. Through these activities, members can build new collaborations, share insights and best practice. At the same time, they contribute to a dynamic and supportive AMR research ecosystem.
