Dr. Hayley Wilson is a Senior Policy Analyst at PHG, a genomics and public health policy unit, with over a decade of experience across research, clinical, and policy settings. Her career spans a registered veterinary nursing background through to doctoral and postdoctoral research in pathogen genomics at the University of Cambridge.

Hayley completed her PhD in medicine at the University of Cambridge, focusing on whole-genome sequencing of healthcare-associated pathogens, before leading research on multidrug-resistant organism transmission in clinical settings. Her postdoctoral work placed her at the clinical frontline, where large-scale genomic and epidemiological datasets were used directly to benefit patients through improved infectious disease surveillance and control.

Since joining PHG Foundation in 2023, she has focused on how emerging genomic technologies can be translated into impactful, responsible clinical and public health practice. Hayley brings a distinctive One Health perspective to AMR, bridging bench science, clinical surveillance, and evidence-based policy.
