Biography

Dr Clare Barker is a bioinformatician and research associate at the UK Health Security Agency. She is funded by the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Gastrointestinal Infections, which facilitates research at the interface between public health and academia. Her work uses microbial genomics to better understand the bacteria causing gastrointestinal illness in the UK, often focusing on the emergence and spread of resistance mechanisms.
