The TARGetAMR Network invites delegates to submit abstracts for presentations at the TARGetAMR Annual Conference, taking place on Thursday 14th – Friday 15th May 2026 at The Studio, 7 Cannon St, Birmingham B2 5EP.

We welcome submissions from all disciplines – science, policy, social science, and the arts – reflecting our ethos:

AMR is everyone’s challenge. Your voice matters in the fight against AMR.

We will be offering two types of presentation slots at the conference:

  • Flash Talks – 3 minutes in length, followed by Q&A (approximately 15 slots available)
  • Short Talks – 12 minutes in length, followed by Q&A (6 slots available)

Both formats are excellent opportunities to showcase your work and gain visibility among a diverse audience. We encourage early submission to secure your preferred slot.

Call for Abstracts Timeline:

Open: Monday 2nd February 2026

Close: Friday 20th March 2026, 5pm GMT 

Notification of accepted presentations: Friday 17th April 2026

Deadline for accepting invitation to present and register for conference: Friday 24th April 2026.

Selection Criteria:

All applications will be reviewed by the TARGetAMR Leadership Team. We are looking for innovative, impactful contributions that align with our ethos and demonstrate:

  • Scientific/technical quality and practical relevance
  • Contribution to AMR research, policy, or public engagement
  • Evidence of impact or pathways to impact
  • Inclusivity and diversity of perspectives

Guidance Once Accepted:

Accepted abstracts will be featured on our website and event materials.
Presenters must provide a short biography, photo, and affiliation details upon acceptance.

Presentations will need to be in person. If selected, you will need to accept your invitation to present and register as an attendee on our registration platform, via our event page.

Please note that this is an in person only event and delegates are responsible for organising their own transport to and from the venue.
