The TARGetAMR Network invites delegates to submit abstracts for presentations at the TARGetAMR Conference, which will take place on Thursday 14th – Friday 15th May 2026 at The Studio, 7 Cannon St, Birmingham B2 5EP.
Importantly, we welcome submissions from all disciplines – science, policy, social science, and the arts – as this reflects our core ethos:
AMR is everyone’s challenge. Your voice matters in the fight against AMR.
Presentation Opportunities
At the conference, we will be offering two types of presentation slots at the conference:
- Flash Talks – 3 minutes in length, followed by Q&A (approximately 15 slots available)
- Short Talks – 12 minutes in length, followed by Q&A (6 slots available)
Both formats are excellent opportunities to showcase your research, policy work, or creative practice and gain visibility among a diverse AMR audience. Furthermore, we strongly encourage early submission to secure your preferred presentation slot.
Call for Abstracts Timeline:
The timeline for submissions is as follows:
Submission opens: Monday 2nd February 2026
Submission deadline: Friday 20th March 2026, 5pm GMT
Notification of accepted presentations: Friday 17th April 2026
Deadline for accepting invitation to present and register for conference: Friday 24th April 2026.
Selection Criteria:
All applications will be reviewed by the TARGetAMR Leadership Team. Overall, we are looking for innovative and impactful contributions that align with our ethos, interdisciplinary approach to AMR and, in particular, demonstrate:
- High scientific/technical quality and practical relevance
- Clear contribution to AMR research, policy, or public engagement
- Evidence of impact or pathways to impact
- Strong inclusivity and diversity of perspectives
Guidance for Accepted Presenters:
Once abstracts are accepted, they will be featured on our website and event materials. In addition, presenters must provide a short biography, photo, and affiliation details upon acceptance.
All presentations must be delivered in person at the Birmingham conference venue (The Studio). Therefore, if selected, you will need to accept your invitation to present and then register as an attendee via the official event page
Please note that this is an in person only event and delegates are responsible for organising their own transport to and from the venue.
Presenters are responsible for ensuring their presentations appropriately acknowledge all contributors and respect applicable legal, ethical, and data protection regulations (including copyright requirements).
